Organisers behind the 2020 British Motor Yacht Show say this year’s event will still go ahead – however, visitors will need to pre-register and book a time slot before they’re let through the doors.
The August 1-9 show will go ahead, although anyone who wants to step on board any of the boutique brands expected to go on show will first have to register with Permier Marinas, one of the event’s organisers, and then nominate a date and time to turn up for their visit.
The show is also organised by the UK’s three largest motor yacht distributors; Fairline, Princess and Sunseeker.

“As a consortium we control of every aspect of the show and we focus exclusively on what we think a serious motor yacht buyer would want to know, see and do at a motor yacht show,” the event’s organisers said.
“So unlike many other boat shows that act as an exposé for all areas of the marine lifestyle, the British Motor Yacht Show’s organisers restrict exhibits to the finest British built motor yachts and premium overseas motor yacht and powerboat brands.
“If you are looking to purchase a motor yacht or powerboat in the near future, there really is no better opportunity to get up close and personal with the most prestigious boats in the world - all in one superb location and for just one very special weekend.”

Other brands on show will include 15 international motor yacht brands including Axopar, Azimut, Bavaria, Brabus, Chris Craft, Greenline, Hunckley, Hunt Yachts, Invictus, Jeanneau, Prestige, Nordhaven, Sealine, and tender maker Williams.
Entry to the event is free.
Organisers behind the annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Australia's largest boating extravaganza, announced earlier this year that its event, which normally runs in early June, would be postponed until later this year.
It is yet to announce the new dates.
