Benetti has made the surprise decision to show its all-new flagship, the Benetti Oasis 40M, at this week’s 2020 Genoa International Boat Show.
The Italian luxury motor yacht brand said it had only just gained permission from the new motor yacht’s owner to present it at the show, making it a late entry.
“This is the best way to present the first unit of Oasis 40M, the newest and most innovative yacht presented by Benetti with a glam soul as flagship of the boat show,” Benetti said in a statement announcing the first official public showing of the boat.
“Recently delivered to American owner Tim Ciasulli, represented by US broker Merle Wood & Associates, Oasis 40M was given its debut to a restricted audience of lucky friends at the Azimut|Benetti Group annual press conference, set against the evocative backdrop of Portofino, but the yacht’s official debut will be in Genoa.”
The all-fibreglass Benetti Oasis 40M was first revealed in concept form at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival.
A highlight of the quad-deck boat is aft, where the large cockpit contains a glass-walled pool that overlooks the sea. The area increases in size via side wings that slide out.
Another unique feature, Benetti says, is a wheelhouse where up to six people can sit with a panoramic view of the ocean around them and argue over which direction to steer next.
The price? If you threw around the idea that the boat cost its new owner something north of €20 million ($A33 million) you’d probably get a dismissive nod.
The Benetti Oasis 40M had previously only had a single private showing at Portofino.
