Melbourne-based Bar Crusher has revealed a second member of its growing barramundi-chasing rear consoles, the Bar Crusher 670XSR.
The all-new 6.7-metre Bar Crusher 670XSR joins the smaller Bar Crusher 615XSR launched early last month.
Just like the smaller version, the Bar Crusher 670XSR features a rear console that leaves plenty of unobstructed space forward.
This boat also features an elevated forward casting platform that extends to the undersides of the topdecks. Below, the casting deck houses a massive storage area that’s large enough to house a fridge on a sliding drawer, store a swag or stow life jackets.
The space even has a lock so you can safely leave the boat unattended on the trailer without fear of someone pinching all your gear.
Bar Crusher also fits the forward casting deck with a pair of seat spigots so that the rear console seats can shift forward, or owners who prefer a leaning post forward can slip one in.
Underneath, the Bar Crusher 615XSR is built on the brand’s Waveslicer deep-vee hull and features the 615 Delta Flare, a pressing on either side of the hull that helps with the boat’s transition onto the plane. It also helps to minimise side slip in cornering.
The hull also includes Bar Crusher’s Quickflow flooded keel system to provide more stability at rest.
Images of one of the first hulls out of the factory – it’s so new that it is yet to have an outboard engine fitted – shows it equipped with an alloy bait board with a trio of rocket launchers, the low centre console with low-cut tinted windscreen, and a pair of seats mounted amidships that can also move aft to either side of the skipper’s seat, or forward to the casting platform.
The console has a huge space for a flush-mounted multifunction touchscreen.
A fold-down bench seat is mounted alongside the step-through transom, while four rod holders and a number of sinker cups line each gunnel. Steps are provided to either side of the casting platform to help with access.
Of note, the Bar Crusher 670XSR’s port side pocket has a locking drop-down drawer to safely store fishing rods.
A swing-down transom ladder is suited to boarding while wearing flippers. The images released today do not show if the marlin board features another Bar Crusher staple – a berley bucket with aluminium masher.
A transom-mounted live bait tank appears to use a solid rather than see-through lid featured on the Bar Crusher 615XSR.
