Alloy fishing boat specialist Bar Crusher has teased the Bar Crusher 615XSR, an all-new rear console tub targeting the Top End.
A surprise post dropped on social media late today hints that the new model is built to target barra and mangrove jack, and even capable of offshore excursions chasing cobia and even longtail tuna.
The new design features the console and seating pushed aft to create what Bar Crusher says is a “massive forward fishing area”.

Underneath the tall casting deck (it includes steps to help get onto it) is plenty of room for iceboxes or fridges, swags and camping gear. The storage space is lockable, so you don’t have to worry about gear being stolen while the boat is parked up on the trailer.
Part of that is a massive forward elevated casting platform that extends to the undersides of the topdecks and includes either a twin fitting to take a removable leaning post or separate seats.
Underneath, the Bar Crusher 615XSR is built on the brand’s Waveslicer deep-vee hull and features the 615 Delta Flare, a pressing on either side of the hull that helps with the boat’s transition onto the plane. It also helps to minimise side slip in cornering.
The hull also includes Bar Crusher’s Quickflow flooded keel system to provide more stability at rest.
The three-seat centre console features a low tinted acrylic windscreen, an integrated footrest and a large storage space below that is large enough to stow bags and lifejackets.
The design also incorporates side pockets running the full side of the cockpit on both sides, lined in marine carpet.
The transom features a lift-up gate providing walk-through access to the marlin board, a plumbed bait tank with a tinted see-through lid, and a removable bait board topped with a replaceable cutting board, with integrated rod and drink holders.
For those more inclined to occasionally use the Bar Crusher 615XSR for more leisurely pursuits, the bait board lifts out and an optional ski pole slips in.
The marlin board, meanwhile, features an integrated berley bucket with an aluminium masher, and a heavy-duty boarding ladder that’s flipper-friendly.
The boat features a 200-litre fuel tank with an expansion space at the top of the tank to prevent overflows.
The Bar Crusher 615XSR is the only XSR model listed, hinting that other variants could join the new line.
