Finnish luxury boat brand Axopar will add the smallest model to its showroom later this year, teasing the all-new Axopar 22 Spyder ahead of its planned Cannes Yachting Festival reveal.
This is an important model for Axopar; the new boat will easily fit on a trailer, and because it fits inside a standard shipping container it should dramatically cut the cost of transporting the boats from Europe to their new owners in places as far-flung as Australia.

The Axopar 22 Spyder will also become the cheapest way into the distinctive Finnish brand, with European prices tipped to fall below the Axopar 24’s €25,000 ($A41,000) starting price for a barebone package.
The standard twin-seat centre console boat, featuring a deep-freeboard walkaround layout, will come fitted with a single 115hp Mercury four-stroke outboard engine.
Axopar plans to launch the boat as a no-frills boat that builds on the brand’s extremely stable and seaworthy stepped hull technology, creating a boat that handles a range of conditions with ease despite its smaller size.
The boat-maker says the Axopar 22 Spyder’s hull will weigh around 1200kg – not bad for a boat that stretches more than7.0 metres – with a beam of 2.23 metres, making it ideal for Australian roads.
The boat will also come in three configurations; a bowrider with a simple forward bench seat, a “sunbathing” layout with a forward sun lounge, and a U-shaped bow lounge with seating for up to six people.
Few other details are available.
The 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival will run from September 8 to 13.
Axopar has recently launched its Axopar 37 Evolution range in Australia via its official distributor, eyachts.
