Four fresh Riviera premieres will headline a spectacular 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which returns to the Gold Coast in late May.
The Gold Coast luxury motor yacht maker said the models it would introduce at the 2019 showcase were still a “tightly guarded secret”.
However, one or maybe more of the new boats on display are anticipated to be either the Belize 66 Sedan or Daybridge, the newest members of the uber-luxury line launched by Riviera in the US late last year. Riviera limits the number of Belize-badged craft it makes each year to ensure the sub-brand’s exclusivity.
The strong Sanctuary Cove presence – Riviera will have 11 models on display at the event – also will incorporate the annual Riviera and Belize Festival of Boating, a gathering of owners and their craft traditionally held at Riviera’s Coomera-based boat-building yard.
At the more affordable end of the scale, the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will include an expanded trailer boat section. Brands including Boston Whaler, Brig, Cobalt, Cruise Craft, Fibrafort, Haines Signature, Horizon, Mako, Malibu, Nautique, Quintrex, Sea Fox, Sportsman and Tracker will all be represented, with some launching fairly fresh products onto the Australian market.
The 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show runs from May 23-26. Tickets are now on sale and available online.
Here’s what we know so far that will make an impression at this year’s event.
The 10-metre Focus Power 33, complete with its centre steering position, arrives at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show billed as a replacement for fans of departed sports cruiser brands Mustang and Sunrunner.
The dynamic 2015 European Boat of the Year winner will be sold in Australia via Sanctuary Cove Boat Sales, the group also behind pontoon boat brand Hurricane Boats Australia. Prices for the Focus Power 33 kick off from $499,000.
The deep vee Focus Power 33’s point of difference is that it packs a stern drive punch via twin Steyr Motors 260hp engines, with standard 220hp and larger 280hp powerplants also available.
Alexander Marine will introduce a new model, the Galeon 510 Skydeck, to the Australian market as the brand re-establishes itself as a premium motor yacht contender.
The Galeon 510 Skydeck is an express-style coupe that focuses on technology and value for money. It includes features such as a full-width sunroof over the helm, and the benefits of an open flybridge with a huge amount of entertainment space that stows away under an electrically stowing canopy.
It’s trump card, though, is an incredible amount of living space built up to Galeon’s exacting standards, given the size of the sports yacht.
The Greenline Neo Hard Top makes its Australian debut at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. A low-profile coupe-style boat, the Neo will include the option of twin outboard engines stumping up a top speed of around 40 knots.
Don’t want to burn hydrocarbons? You can swap out the ourtboards for a Torqueedo electric outboard motor that can propel up to 12 people in near-silent comfort at speeds of up to 18 knots.
Greenline will also introduce the Axopar 37 Sun Top featuring its huge canvas sun protection, but with a twist – this one will come equipped with the Brabus package launched at Boot Dusseldorf, featuring discreet styling enhancements wit some finished in carbon fibre.
The Horizon FD77 Skyline is an all-new fast displacement motor yacht from the British brand making its Australian debut at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Beamy, with expanses of glass and featuring a high-performance wave-piercing bow, the FD77 is built with owner-operators front of mind.
The Horizon FD77 features a spacious deck-level ensuite master stateroom with an enclosed “skylounge” saloon, boat deck and forward entertainment area.
The Integrity 380 SX blends classic trawler-style design with modern-day sophistication. Drawing from the world of automotive design, the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show headliner boasts a large twin windscreen for excellent forward vision, electronic Volvo Penta engine and a host of next-gen features that make the SX line ideal for families and newcomers to boating.
The Integrity 380 SX features a master stateroom with an ensuite. A planned 580 SX is expected to add a raised pilot house and three cabins, including a full-beam master suite.
The Gold Coast motor yacht maker recently announced it had started building the Maritimo X50, an all-new sports yacht teased in concept form at last year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The latest addition to the X-Series line will build on Maritimo’s already strong order books, which are still swollen with orders from the Maritimo X60 launched last year.
The Maritimo X50's powerful exterior form blankets an innovative web of simplistic and functional arrangements integrated with advanced design features that set it apart from competitors. It also features a customisable aft cabin space featuring a standard beach club cabin with an ensuite.
Owners who do not want the beach club can replace the space with a guest stateroom featuring a double folding bed. Alternatively, the space can be utilised as a twin single stateroom with a large tender garage that can house a 3.2-metre boat.
Maritimo has also promised a “world premiere” – we’re not sure at this stage if this will be something separate to the X50’s arrival.
The now global megayacht brand – it now builds boats in the US as well as Taiwan – will launch the Ocean Alexander 88 Sky at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The “Sky” refers to the boat’s “skylounge”, a large entertaining area that increases the Ocean Alexander 88 Sky’s living space by 20 per cent. The model, a development of the 85 motor yacht, is the brand’s 40th anniversary gift to the world.
The Grand Banks brand will have two Australian debutants at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, the Palm Beach GT50 and the Palm Beach 65 Fly.
The 54-foot Palm Beach GT50 is a vacuum-formed fibreglass hull fitted with a carbon-fibre deck and superstructure that adds lightness and strength. Performance – with a cruising speed of 35 knots and a top speed of 40 – comes via a pair of 600hp Volvo Penta IPS800 diesel engines.
The Palm Beach 65 Fly is an open flybridge cruiser with a four-cabin layout. It will cruise at 32 knots, or cross into the 40-knot zone when pushed, with accommodation for up to eight people.
Coomera-based Riviera will stamp its authority as Australia’s motor yacht brauhaus by bringing 11 boats to its 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show display.
The boats on show will range from 39 feet right up to the brand’s flagship 72-foot range-topper.
Four of the boats on display will be world premieres, Riviera said.
The Monohull Group will introduce the Lagoon 40, a sleek and innovative sailing catamaran that, among other things, moves the mast step further aft.
The Lagoon 40 will also come with a self-tacking jib and shorter boom for easier simplified manoeuvres, and a high aspect ratio mainsail that optimises performance with the capture of better airflow in the upper parts of the sail. Under the deck is what lagoon says is a spacious and light-filled living area.
TMG will also have the Dragonfly Sport 25 on show. This high-performance trailer sailer has outriggers that sit forward of the main hull, and a swing wing system that makes berthing much simpler for owners.
Retro looks with modern appointments mark the arrival of Whitehaven’s Harbour Classic 40 sports yacht at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
With a focus on entertaining, the 40-foot dayboat combines “the timeless appeal of a gentleman’s cruiser with the benefits of high-tech design and engineering”.
Accommodation comprises a master cabin with privacy screen, and an open sided daybed – ideal for impromptu overnight guests – and a full bathroom with separate shower.
The Harbour Classic 40 made its debut in Sydney in March, but the Sanctuary Cove show is its first step out in the limelight.
