Whittley Boats has introduced two new “Coast Tourer Edition” models featuring hardtop cabins built on top of its Sea Legend models.
The Whittley SL22 Coast Tourer Edition and the SL25 Coast Tourer Edition both feature composite hardtop cabins enclosed on three sides to provide ore weather and wind protection.
To be unveiled at the 2019 Melbourne Boat Show this morning, the Sea Legend models also include the option of a lockable sliding cockpit door, meaning you can leave the boat tied up to a jetty without worrying about gear going missing.
Whittley said the Sea Legend hardtop models were introduced in response to “customer feedback and market trends, offering a unique Australian-made alternative to similar imported products”.
“Demand and interest in boats with outboards is growing, as well as the need for new features like lockable sliding cabin doors mid-ship, to remove the hassle of any leaks from canopy clears and ensure that anglers can safely lock away their prized fishing gear,” Whittley Marine managing director Neville Whittley said.
“This is a first for an Australian trailerable fiberglass boat-builder to offer these unique features.”
Standard equipment on the Coast Tourer Edition models includes:
The Whittley SL 22 Coast Tourer Edition is priced from $108,990, and comes fitted with a Yamaha F150 four-stroke outboard engine and a dual-axle electric braked Mackay trailer.
Whittley says the dash layout in the Whittley SL 22 Coast Tour Edition has also been upgraded to cater for up to a 16-inch Garmin screen. The package is rated to take up to Yamaha’s F225 four stroke engine.
The Whittley SL 25 Coast Tourer Edition costs from $149,990 fitted with a Yamaha F200 four-stroke outboard engine and a dual-axle electric braked Mackay trailer. It also has a 240-litre fuel tank, freshwater system with rear sink, Bennett trim tabs, chemical toilet and bunk infill cushions.
Both boats will be on show at Melbourne alongside the Whittley SL 20 OB, an outboard-engined version of the Sea Legend range’s smallest model.
The Melbourne Boat Show runs from today until Sunday.
