The 2019 Brisbane Boat Show opens this week, featuring more than 400 fishing and recreational boats aimed at boosting time – and fun – on the water.
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at South Bank will be filled to capacity with exhibits, which include everything from prestige watercraft to practical fishing vessels, tinnies and kayaks.

The event will showcase new releases from major suppliers, a huge clearance of fishing tackle, show-only deals and expert advice.
This year’s show will include what organisers say are “very exciting” water skiing and wakeboarding craft, which represent a growing sport in the state.
There also will be a number of new releases, organisers say. Of note, Evinrude will have a static display of its new E-TEC G2 outboard engine range, which features outputs of between 110hp to 150hp from normally aspirated three-cylinder two-strokes.
A highlight of the activities around the show will include an appearance by Michelle Lee, the only Australian woman to row non-stop, and alone, across the Atlantic Ocean.
This will be her second appearance at the show after attending last year’s event in the lead-up to the 10-week, 5000-kilometre adventure aboard the 8.0-metre Australian Maid.
“Last year at the show plenty of people shared both their support and disbelief that I was planning to attempt such a thing,” Lee said.
“I’m looking forward to catching up with all my supporters and Brisbane-based Facebook friends who generated such great motivation and inspiration for me in the lonely and enduring hours at sea for such a long time.”
Lee will be talking about her epic adventure twice a day throughout the three days of the show.
The Brisbane Boat Show will be open every day from August 23-25 from 10 am, with tickets available online (go to the Brisbane Boat Show website to buy them) or at the venue.
Tickets are $15 for adults, with concessions costing $12 and children aged 5-17 years costing $5. A family ticket for two adults and three children costs $35.
