The 2018 Brisbane Boat Show kicks off from tomorrow, with the South Bank Convention and Exhibition Centre packed out with trailer boat, fishing and watersport displays.
Hot on the heels of last year's event, the show will have a mix of family-friendly activities, more than 500 static displays of boats, gear and electronics, and fishing workshops.
This year, the show’s organiser – the Boating Industry Association – has joined with Marine Safety Queensland as the event’s “partner in safety”.

The service will host the show’s boating safety zone, where representatives from various government departments and associations will be on hand to talk about how we keep our waterways safe, and protect the ecological sustainability of the marine environment.
Boat brands such as Mastercraft will have its range on display. While there are no all-new models from the US boat maker, Mastercraft will be introducing a range of trim and packaging changes for 2019, including a new seven-inch touchscreen.

The Brisbane show will also see the official re-launch of Bertram on the Australian market. Western Australia-based Matilda Bay Marine will bring the 35 Flybridge, and the all-new 61 due for a reveal at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale boat show in the US, will be here as part of its product line-up.
As always, there are likely to be plenty of bargains on offer from the show floor, including what the organiser says is a huge clearance of fishing gear.

Tickets to the show, which kicks off on Friday, August 24, and runs to Sunday, August 26 are $15 for adults, $5 for children, with those aged under the age of five admitted free, and $12 for senior and pensioners. A family ticket is available for $35. Activities including the fishing masterclasses and bumper boat rides for children on the 16-metre indoor pool are included with the price of the ticket.
Latecomers gain an added bonus: tickets sold after 5pm are $5 each.
The show opens from 10am each day. For more information, and to buy tickets, visit www.brisbaneboatshow.com.au.
