Organisers of the 2015 Recreational Fishing Conference say that recreational fishers across Australia need to mark their calendars and make plans to attend the third Australian Recreational Fishing Conference being held on Saturday, July 25 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The theme for the 2015 Conference is ‘Managing our Fishing Future’.
The conference aims to:
>> Increase the level of meaningful engagement with Australia’s five million strong recreational fishing community on national issues of importance
>> Identify key priority actions to be progressed following on from the Conference
>> Acknowledge the achievements of individuals and groups within the recreational fishing community
The conference will feature presentations by experts on various issues relating to recreational fishing from around the world, discussion forums to engage participants on key issues, an awards ceremony celebrating excellence in a number of categories and a fishing tournament on the Sunday. The whole lot takes place adjacent to the biggest tackle trade show in Australia.
Registration is $30 per person inc GST which includes Conference attendance, entry to the AFTA Trade Show on Sunday, July 26, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Additionally, there is a conference cocktail function (including award presentations) which is $25pp and includes finger food and drinks (selected beer, wine, soft drinks).
Conference attendees will have the chance to fish alongside the likes of Paul Worsteling, Senator the Hon. Richard Colbeck, Hon. Bob Baldwin MP and more.
