2015 Adelaide Boat Show

Opens this Thursday and all weekend with a big local boat dealer presence and greater marine-industry effort

If you love boats, fishing and water sports you don’t want to miss SA’s biggest Boat Show. The SA boating industry’s flagship event, presented by the Boating Industry Association of South Australia, will open this Thursday (June 25) at the Adelaide Showground.

Organisers say the 2014 event will be a spectacular showcase of large and small boats, products and accessories, services and expert advice, seminars and workshops, holiday destinations and entertainment.

From ski craft, kayaks, wakeboards, fishing and accessories, there will be something for everyone and an opportunity for the industry to present its quality and expertise to local boating and fishing enthusiasts.

The selection of boats from local brands include human-powered rowboats, timber boats and plans from Duck Flat Wooden Boats; Hobie kayaks and SUPs; a big selection of ski boats from Camero, Elite, Hallett and Matric; fishing boats from brands like Theodore Marine; RIBs and runabouts, tinnies and more.

BIG DEALER SHOW
Organisers say the Adelaide Boat Show 2015 will feature the biggest involvement of marine dealers for many years as the industry comes together in the one location to showcase the great diversity, affordability and lifestyle choices in recreational boating.

To be presented in the indoor comfort of the Adelaide Showground, Wayville from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, it is the premier public event of the Boating Industry Association (BIA) in South Australia with the support of its national affiliates.

George Bolton, General Manager SA of the BIA, said the industry was dedicated to attracting more people into healthy on-water recreational activities.

"The Adelaide Boat Show is a unique opportunity for boating and fishing enthusiasts to compare the latest products and prices and to discuss options with industry experts in a huge one-stop-shop environment," he explained.

The BIA has been working with its industry partner, Kym Jones Exhibitions, to maximise exhibitor numbers, attractions and attendance at this year’s show.

The response from dealers has been outstanding with the air-conditioned Goyder and Jubilee Pavilions and Duncan Gallery to be full of vessels of all types and sizes, including fishing, skiing and wakeboarding boats, jet skis, engines, trailers, accessories, kayaks and fishing gear – all at great show special prices.

The show will also feature be a? range of fishing and boating seminars and workshops, a presentation of top holiday destinations and entertainment for all ages.

"There will be something for everyone at this year’s show whether they are people entering the market for the first time or others looking to upgrade from their existing vessels," Bolton said.

TRAILERBOAT RIGS
The dealership enthusiasm for the 2015 Adelaide Boat Show is clear in the words of major participants and this is expected to translate into much higher visitor numbers.

Dave Ferris, Manager of Yamaha Pitmans Marine, said latest models from Quintrex, Cruise Craft, Whittley and Revival would be on display along with Qwest pontoon boats, Yamaha jet skis and outboard motors.

Rob Cuming, Proprietor of Christies Beach Marine, will present the latest models of the Stabicraft range including the 1600 Stabicraft Fisher, an ideal entry boat for family enjoyment, and the 2400 Stabicraft Enclosed for the more serious offshore adventurers.

"We will also feature the Northbank 750 sterndrive and new Northbank 650 Hardtop (pictured)," Cuming said.

Jason Deckers, Managing Director of Pelican Marine, said his display would include the Bayliner range along with Mercury/Quicksilver inflatable boats.

"We will also display a wide range of SeaTrail trailers which combine quality and great value for boats ranging from three metres to nine metres," Jason said.

CLASSIC BRANDS
Marine Boat Sales SA Pty Ltd will relaunch the Caribbean brand into the SA market. Managing Director, Andrew Craddock, said it would be an exciting return for the iconic Caribbean brand with boats on display ranging from 19ft to 27ft.

"We will also feature for the first time a range of Brig rigid hull inflatables," he said.

Paul Lamb, Manager of Pacific Marine, said the dealership would present a spectacular, multi-site display of top-of-the-range fishing and ski boats including Bar Crusher, Haines Signature, MasterCraft, Skicraft, Sportscraft and Stejcraft.

Sports Marine SA Pty Ltd will showcase the legendary Haines Hunter craft and the new Arvor 690D diesel-powered fishing boat. This European design has established a niche market in Australia backed by Mercury.

Peter Heinrich, Managing Director of Sports Marine, said the display would also include a range of Stacer aluminium boats and latest Mercury and Honda outboards.

Elite Ski Boats will showcase latest Axis and Malibu craft including the 2015 Wakesetter 22 VLX. Proprietor Stuart Myles said the display would also include an extensive range of ski gear at discounted prices.

Fishing enthusiasts will enjoy a huge Tacklebusters rod and tackle sale
at the show. Tackle Busters Victor Harbor store owner, Stuart Walsh,
said there would be great show special prices with a wide range of
quality gear on sale.

'YAKS AND YACHTS
Specialist water-sports manufacturer Hobie Cat will have the latest catamarans, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and accessories to cater for all ages and levels of experience. Visitors to the Boat Show can see an impressive range of Hobie MirageDrive kayaks and paddleboards.

Visitors to the Boat Show can obtain expert information on the fun, affordability and safety of sailing.

Yachting South Australia Development Manager, Ian Leeson, said: "Our aim is to deliver a strong message to families that our sailing clubs are welcoming, and have trained people, facilities and boats to help them in their first steps in the sport," he said.
