2013 GOLD COAST MARINE EXPO: Update

Less than 100 days to go till the marine industry's latest and greatest expo

The 2013 Gold Coast Marine Expo is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet with over 80 exhibitors already confirmed and a lot of space booked for the November event.

According to the organisers, there will be something for everyone at the Expo and interest has been so strong that 85 per cent of the hardstand space is now spoken for.

The Gold Coast International Marine Expo is a not-for-profit, free-entry, family-friendly event that offers so much more than a boat show.

Held within facilities that boast Australia's largest boat manufacturing plants and shipyards, the Expo is Australia's only "Working Boat Show" as it offers a unique behind-the-scenes view and allows for enthusiasts and exhibitors to come together in an interactive and memorable manner.

Gold Coast International Marine Expo spokesman Stephen Milne said attendance at last year’s Expo defied industry trends with a 24 per cent increase on the first year’s attendance.

"The three-day Expo attracted a total of 20,752 people through the gates from around Australia and New Zealand as counted independently by the Rotary Club of Coomera River, which is a tremendous achievement for such a young event," Mr Milne said.

"Exhibitor numbers reached 188 and featured 40 new exhibitors at last year’s event. There was also a significant increase in the number of boats on display on both the land and in the water."

In 2012, there were more than 500 boats on display including 120 plus boats in the on-water display.

The 2013 Gold Coast International Marine Expo not only has everything marine on display, it also boasts a comprehensive program of events with something for everyone.

Over the three big days of the Expo there is something happening every 15 minutes.

The Yamaha Supertank will be there with fishing experts on hand to improve your fishing, culinary expert Bart Beek with be along with cooking demonstrations, and the guys and girls from Riviera will show off boats in varying stages of construction and you can hear from their world-leading engineers and electricians as they explain the latest in marine technology.

Of course BoatPoint and boatsales.com.au will be there so you can buy or sell your boat quickly and easily. We're also the media partner of the Expo so we'll be able to keep you up to date with what's going and when.

The Gold Coast International Marine Expo runs from November 1-3.
