Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds will be the stage for the biggest outdoor expo in Australia, the 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and the National 4x4 and Outdoors Show with entry to both events for the price of one show.
As the name suggests, the collective shows bring together Queenslanders greatest passions: trailer boating, fishing, four-wheel driving, camping and just getting off the beaten track, on the water and into the great outdoors.
Having used up all its wet-weather vouchers in summer and early autumn, the Sunshine State is set to shine in the near future, with bright sunny days and a postcard Easter forecast.
In other words, this in a timely show. Snag a bargain on a run-out tinnie and ‘end-of-season’ bargain, stock up on cut-price tackle, get some gear for the tow vehicle, and pack a tent for your trip to Fraser.
Meantime, there’s a plenty to help make big and little kids better anglers. The 2013 Fishing Expo features some of Australia’s most-respected names in recreational fishing. The big team of presenters including Paul Worsteling (pictured with a barra) will take to the stage and share the tips and tricks that work for them, from the estuary to the beaches and catching the biggest fish imaginable offshore. There are plenty of opportunities to win some great prizes, too
The Tinnie & Tackle Show BREAM Invitational returns again in 2013 with 10 of Australia’s best breaming teams hitting Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast for two days of tournament fishing.
Teams will head off from the Port of Brisbane on Saturday and Sunday morning before returning to the Tinnie & Tackle Show for a live weigh-in at 1.45pm each day at the Yamaha Supertank. Check out the big bream that didn’t get away and see who claims the title for 2013.
Last but not least, the Kids Marine Zone is designed to educate and inspire tomorrows anglers. The free sessions hosted by 2 Bent Rods are a great hands-on way for kids to learn the basics of fishing. Activities include plaster-mould painting, knot tying, yabbie pumping, mullet chukka, rod casting, cast netting, bait netting and catching red claw and a fish tank.
The 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and the National 4x4 and Outdoors Show is open this Friday March 15-Sunday March 17 from 9am-6pm and 9am-5pm on the final day. Entry costs $15 adults, $10 seniors and students, with kids under-15 free. Details and online tickets at www.tinnie-tackle.com.au.
