2009 Mandurah Boat Show

Club Marine Mandurah Boat show, to be held from October 9 to 11, promises a whole new look for 2009

The year’s Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show revolves around a new Marine Operations Centre (Peel Region). Visitors will notice that the new three-storey building is an integral part of the popular West Australian event.

According to show director, Peter Woods, this is the only boat show that has all the main Government marine departments actually located within it, including the Departments of: Fisheries; Water; Transport (Marine Safety); and, WA Water Police. The building will be an open house throughout the whole weekend and provide a host of information and advice to boaties about playing it safe and abiding by the rules.

Show officials said Mandurah is set to be a stunner with a selection of luxury vessels never before displayed in Australia, including an $8.7 million Sunseeker 86 Yacht (pictured), a Sunseeker 64 Predator and a Fountaine Pajot Lipari 41.

Western Australian firsts include the appearance of Sunseeker’s 52 Predator and 52 Manhattan, a Riviera 38 Flybridge, Horizon 65, Maritimo Aegean 50 Enclosed, and a Potter 19 trailersailer (presented by Seagreen Marine).

The Show will also have new models from Sea Ray, a Boston Whaler 220 Outrage and a selection of new Boston Whaler Conquests, as well as the Mustang 430 Coupe, a boat we dubbed the best Mustang yet.

MARITIMO SHOW
The abovementioned sparkling new A50 Aegean Enclosed Flybridge will be the centrepiece of a $5 million Maritimo display at Mandurah that also includes the Maritimo M48 and M52 Motoryachts and a 550 Offshore Convertible sportsfisher.

Chris Box, Principal of Maritimo’s West Australian dealer Martin Box Marine, said: “This is our first year as WA’s exclusive Maritimo dealer and we are looking forward to building the already popular brand in WA.

“Maritimo, with its proven bluewater capabilities and long-range cruising reputation, is an ideal brand for the waters off Western Australia,” Box said.

More than 40 Maritimo boats already cruise the waters of WA, enjoying the support provided by the Martin Box team.

RIVIERA’S LOT
Besides the Riviera 38 Open mentioned above, which is on display with Riviera Syndication, WA Riviera dealers, R Marine Perth and Beacon Marine will display a 56 Enclosed Flybridge, 41 Open Flybridge, 4400 Sport Yacht and 48 Offshore Express.

Riviera will showcase its top boating accessories including the wireless-remote Yacht Controller, an ADC Dinghy Crane, HRO watermakers, and OceanView night-vision cameras. Challenge Marine has also extended its display to include chandlery, kayaks, inflatables and electronics.

The Engel Aquatank Fishing Show makes a popular return with non-stop fishing talks and presentations by some of Australia’s finest fishing experts including Malcolm Douglas and David Hodge (Hodgy the Bare Foot Fisherman) where they will entertain audiences with their knowledge and skills.

Show officials said another part of the new-look show is the redesigned marina that now exits directly outside the super-marquee, housing a host of accessory displays, and wider, open walkways. The beach area, which is unique to Mandurah, will have even more kayak and canoe demonstrations for people to try for themselves. The come-try-dive tank is also back, as are fashion parades and lots of children’s entertainment.

The Cooking Stage gets a facelift with the inclusion of a giant LED screen to make the presentations a more visual experience.
