17th Airlie Beach Race Week

Airlie Beach Race Week is an annual event sailed on Pioneer Bay off Airlie Beach and around the Whitsunday Islands

It is a lead up event to Hamilton Island Race Week, starting August 19.

Ray Roberts' DK 46 Quantum Racing won the final race, winning the IRC division overall. Jamie Wilmot took the helm when Ray Roberts had to go to Brisbane on business.

Quantum Racing and Michael Hiatt's Cookson 50 Living Doll from Victoria and Pussy Galore, Anatole Masfen's Cookson 50 from New Zealand were on equal points at the start of the last race.

After eight races, with one drop, Living Doll was announced second overall with Alan Brierty's Sydney 38 Limit third and Pussy Galore fourth.

Greg Tobin and Charlie Preen's Dehler 39, called Dehler Magic was sailed consistently well and consequently won the PHS division. Restless, Kane Davidson's Cape 35 was second and Mistery, Urs Waldmeier's Swarbrick S99, third.

In Cruising with Spinnaker, Simon Vincent's Rodgers Aito won overall with Alabaster Ian and Kerry Westlake's Adams 13 second and Hans-on, Colin Thomas and Nick Cox's Hanse 370e, third.
