Local Sea Fox distributor JSW Power Sports have one of the first new 209 Commander models in the world arriving in about four weeks at its Gold Coast showroom.
The hot new centre console has a sub-$60,000 price with 150hp Mercury EFI four-stroke outboard, console with portable toilet, both fresh and salt water wash down, stereo and much more.
A optional T-top lets you stay out longer in summer and it enhances the boat's styling and lines.
Judging by the renderings of the all-new 2013 model, a boatload of fishing features are built in. But the importers say this is a more social boat than previous Sea Fox centre consoles and it would be just great for gadding about the Gold Coast waterways, too.
With a 2.4m beam, the boat can be towed without a permit. On the water, it seems bigger still and the 19 degrees of deadrise amounts to a sharp hull. The underfloor fuel capacity of 246 litres is generous by any measure and will ensure this is a long-range offshore fishing boat should you desire.
Live wells, fish boxes, rod storage, rod holders and fore and aft casting platforms are all included in the internal liner and deck moulding. The standard seating is a leaning post, but twin buckets are available as an upgrade.
Meantime, twin boarding steps each with ladders and toilet point to the crossover purpose of the 209 Commander. Jump in, wade to shore with a picnic, or don the mask and snorkel and dive in.
The ticket price is $57,800 with 150hp Mercury EFI four-stroke outboard and an impressive list of standard features (without trailer).
